CDBurnerXP Pro is a freeware CD/DVD-Writer program. The program can write CD-R, CD-RW DVD+R/RW DVD-R/RW discs.
Main features:
- Write CD-R, CD-RW DVD+R/RW DVD-R/RW discs (as Data, Video and Audio)
- Burn on the fly / Burn-proof
- Supports most IDE, USB, Firewire and SCSI drives
- Rip Audio-CDs to harddrive, obtain track-information (ID3-tags) from Internet
- Burn and create ISO-files
- Convert wav to mp3 and vice versa
- Audio Editor, bin/nrg to ISO converter, simple cover printing, etc.
Burning options:
Simulate Burn: This option simulates a burning process. Nothing is written to the CD, so you can check before.
Finalise Disc: The medium will be ended after burning process and you won't be able to add any further data to the disc (no multisession). You can only “reopen” the disc by erasing. Your existing data will be deleted.
Burn method: Track-at-once (TAO)/ Disc-at-once (DAO) / Session-at-once (SAO)
These options are only available for audio-CDs. If you use TAO, there will be a two-second gap between all tracks. If you use DAO or SAO you get a “gapless” disc.
Override speed detection: Choose another speed than CDBurnerXP detected. This is useful if CDBurnerXP did not detect the speeds correctly.
Verify data after burn: The data burned to the disc will be checked afterwards for errors. In case there are errors you will get a list of all occurences.
Mode 2XA instead of Mode 1:This is only available for CD/RW. Details on cdrfaq.org
Eject disc after burn to open the driver when burning is finished.
Cache compilation before burn: All files you burn will be saved on your hard disc temporarily. This might be useful when burning files from slower device to prevent burning errors.
Use Buffer Underrun Protection: Detailed information on cdrfaq.org
DVD High Compatibility: DVD only, writes at least 1GB data, no matter if there are 1GB of files or not. This is done to ensure compatibility to older recorders. Note that it may take a while to write the data to hard disc when creating an ISO image with that option.
Disable ISO version number extension (;1)
Needed for Windows 2000/XP boot images. More info in our forum and in helpfile. In Nero the same option is called “Do not add the ';1' ISO file version extension” and “Disable Version Numbers” in CDRWin.
Advantages:
- It performs a lot of operations on burining and riping discs. Many more than other spensive programs.
Disadvantages:
- The help file is not complete (they say so on the main help page).
